An interesting combination

One day at the deli after ordering breakfast my breakfast I stepped back to let the other person in line go. When I heard their order I was intrigued. They ordered cream cheese and bacon on a toasted bagel. It was an interesting combination. I was tempted to ask them how it tasted. So I did. They smiled then said it was good and I should try it sometime. I replied I might. As I took my order to the cashier I was still intrigued by the combination.

Even later as I went about my day my mind was on this combination. When I got home and sat to write I was thinking of the combination of cream cheese and bacon on a toasted bagel. I sat staring at the blank screen and wondered how interesting the combination was. The more I thought about it the more I realized that just like people who fall in love who seem so different that it would not work the combination of cream cheese and bacon works. No matter how different two things maybe they could fit as long as they understand there differences and appreciate each other for it.

Interesting combinations make the best possible matches.

I thought the same thing when I heard about the combination of turkey, mustard, and cottage cheese on an everything bagel. I thought… weird. But I tried it, and I was in love from then on.

Now I’m definitely gonna have to try bacon and cream cheese. I’ve had bacon cream cheese before, but never bacon with cream cheese.

My favorite romances usually have characters that are complete opposites and that really “shouldn’t” mix together well. Watching the relationship grow as two people learn to mesh their differences together makes for some really interesting stories, IMHO.

I like Kraft Old English cheese spread on a toasted Onion Bagel. The cream cheese & bacon on a bagel sounds pretty good. Don’t know about the turkey, mustard & cottage cheese combo though…maybe because I hate cottage cheese!

I love cream cheese and bacon on a bagel. Delish. I agree with Cheryl the ones I like tend to be total opposites.

I really like that analogy! When they can appreciate and explore their differences, maybe they’re less likely to get bored with each other. And they might just discover they have as lot more in common than they initially thought.

    ‘Conquering Jazz’ sounds great! 🙂

It’s definitely the differences in us that make us unique and interesting…it’s also the differences that unite us in our similarities…

As for the cream cheese & bacon. well since I’m lactose intolerant…I won’t be able to try that out but my fave odd food combo is a peanut butter & banana sandwich… YUM!

I think variety is the spice of life 🙂 How do you know if you like something if you don’t try it first – that’s goes for just about anything in life. I also think opposites attract – they may not get along effortlessly but it keeps things exciting.
