Synoposis: Art appraiser Adeline Montgomery just wants a normal life. One where she can ignore the vicious ghosts who follow her. One where she’s free from her “gift” of touching an object and seeing the owner’s deepest secrets. And one where she can fall in love without having all of the above get in the way.

But when tall, dark, and dangerous gallery owner Blake Greenwood enters her life, normal is the last thing she’s feeling. The man has more secrets than the priceless art he sells, giving Adeline’s quest for normal no chance. That, and he may just hold the key to uncovering the truth behind her father’s unexplained disappearance.

Despite her paranormal gifts warning her to stay away, she feels an inexplicable, captivating fascination for him, something that goes deeper than attraction. There’s something between them that’s older than time, and if she can learn to give him her trust, it may just save her life.

Interview:

I am so glad you could join us here at RomanceJunkies. To start, will you please tell us a little bit about your current projects?

The Fine Art if Deception, Undoing Time, is a Romantic Suspense Novel about an art appraiser who has a gift for seeing the history of an object with just a touch. She tries to put her gifts and her troubled past behind her by taking a quiet job with a small gallery, only to find herself in the middle of the nation’s largest unsolved art crime.

I’ve also just finished Book 2 in the series which is due out in September of this year.

When was the moment that you knew you had to be a writer?

When I was 8, one of my favorite things to do was sit at my desk in my room and write stories. That may not be typical, 🙂 but probably sheds light on my deep love of writing. Even the feel of writing longhand with a good pen is a joy to me. I didn’t seriously consider the idea of making my stories public until a couple of years ago, though, when a friend suggested it.  But now that I’ve taken the leap, I can’t imagine a day without building a story or seeing where the characters take me next. Writing time is definitely the ‘chocolate cake’ moment of my day – a true guilty pleasure!

Who gave you the one piece of writing advice that sticks with you to this day?

I love all the advice I’ve heard from James Scott Bell, Nora Roberts and Stephen King.

Describe the “perfect” hero. What about the “perfect” hero for you?

Ah, love heroes. Courage, certainly.  Intelligence – emotional and mental – I love wise and insightful heroes. Kind heart, underneath lots of muscles.:) A strict moral code of behavior, loyalty to the death, noble, principled.

What are some of your favorite pastimes? Do you have any hobbies or collections?

Reading, of course. Travel, gardening — I have five different varieties of roses in my front yard alone, and am working toward a sustainable fruit and vegetable garden. I’m most excited about the apple trees and blueberry bushes!

What has been your biggest adventure to date?

Well, let’s see, there was parachuting at 15,000 feet, scuba diving with sharks, snorkeling with barracuda, traveling to Europe at 13, without my family, moving to a new city to start a new life with no job and only my dog at my side…

But hands down, I’d have to say Mothering. Only the brave…

If your fairy godmother waved her wand and whisked you away to the location of your choice, which place would you choose, and why?

When it comes to food, are you the adventurous type who will try anything once, or do you prefer to stick to tried and true foods and recipes?

What is the one modern convenience that you cannot do without?

Gracious, only one? How modern are we talking? While staying on a farm in Germany years ago I discovered they only had an outhouse. So, based on that experience alone, I’d have to say Indoor plumbing.

What is this romance writer’s idea of the “ideal romantic evening”?

How do you describe yourself? How would your family and friends describe you?

What is your favorite comfort food?

Fries. The skinny ones with a good amount of salt. (But don’t tell my trainer…)

What is your favorite season? What do you love about it?

I’ve read that everyone’s favorite season is the one they were born into. That’s certainly true for me! After two long seasons of nature bursting forth in all its glory, I love the quieter reflection that autumn offers. It’s my favorite time to be at the beach or beside a mountain stream. It’s also my favorite time to travel and when I feel my most creative.

What project are you working on next?

I’ve just finished Book 2 in the series and am very excited about where Blake and Addie are taking us!  It’s due out in September.
