Our Review

25 DAYS ‘TIL CHRISTMAS by Poppy Alexander is a contemporary British tale set in London. The author first introduces the reader to Daniel and Kate before beginning the countdown to Christmas. These two main characters are the moving force behind the storyline.

Daniel is mourning the death of his sister, and Kate is a widow struggling to keep her head above water raising her young son. As the countdown begins, Kate is struggling to keep her job, support her son as he struggles in school, and tries to establish a business to supplement her employment income. Daniel is struggling with his grief over the death of his sister.

Daniel and Kate only know each other from previous Christmases when Daniel would take his sister to buy a Christmas tree and Kate was the one selling the trees as part of her job assignment for the store where she works.

The story is a light, sweet romance with several issues depicting the problems of the world today. I really felt that the author gave her readers a true look into the lives and issues of the times and ends her tale with some very happy resolutions.
