Our Review

MET HER MATCH is a spirited, passionate story in the Summer Hill series that reels the reader right in! Ms. Deveraux turns out a finely tuned plot that focuses on the Montgomery and Rayburn families. It stars Terri Rayburn who returns home to find a devastatingly handsome looking dude, Nate Taggert, is lodging at her house. Oh bother, she realizes she is being set up. Nate mentions he is engaged to the mayor’s daughter. Whew, she dodged that bullet! Although, he is easy on the eyes and so, her kind of man. This is going to be a problem.

Nate Taggert, on leave from his government job with his uncle, loves the house and community on the lake. Also, he is regrettably attracted to the leggy brunette who lives here. His uncle arranged his stay, since Terri was out of town. Predictably, Terri and Nate fall into a companionable friendship, while he helps her manage the lake resort. Unfortunately, Nate is falling for the foxy babe. Oh no, what’s he going to say to his fiancĂ©e?

Nate and Terri contend with the contentious resort renters, navigate swirling gossip about them, and handle the sly innuendos regarding Terri’s family. Nate is furious about Terri being the brunt of gossip and vows to uncover the source. Does he dredge up secrets that are meant to be buried forever? Are they destined to be together?

MET HER MATCH is a freshly imagined romance about difficult relationships and stunning developments. There is an entire cast of curious characters with hidden agendas and sub-plots galore. The story centers around Terri and Nate who are nuts about each other. The author does a brilliant job spinning a sticky web of romance with a lady who has emotional baggage and a man that is engaged. However, circumstances reveal problems and there is a mystery concerning Terri’s mom. It all ties together and there is a surprising ending. I just love Ms. Deveraux’s stories and this one is top notch! MET HER MATCH is just like a fine wine, smooth, subtle and pleasantly saucy!
