Our Review

It was great to be back at the Sunshine Valley Vineyard with the Kincade siblings in book two of Candis Terry’s series, PERFECT FOR YOU. There was great continuity to the story from book one in the series, A BETTER MAN, and the flow of the story line was quick and on point. This is Dec and Brooke’s story, and what a story it is.

Dec is Brooke’s boss, and Brooke’s a great assistant to him but she’s also in love with him. Dec is a workaholic and doesn’t look beyond his next financial deal. When he needs to return home to be with his siblings still dealing with the aftermath of their parents’ unexpected deaths, things get quite interesting. Brooke convinces Dec to drive from Southern California to Vancouver, Washington, and that she needs to go with him to help keep him on track with his workload. She is indispensable in more ways than one. I loved their interactions, but their one step forward and two steps back approach was nerve-wracking and heartbreaking. She understood him like no one else, other than his family, and they were both trusting enough to open up to each other with their deepest secrets. I loved Brooke’s bucket list and that she got Dec thinking of things other than work.

The interactions between the complex siblings were real. I could feel the love they shared, as well as the grief and anger. There are a few secrets revealed, but there are definitely more that I think will be revealed in the next book or two in the SUNSHINE VALLEY VINEYARD SERIES. The vividness of the descriptions of the land, the homes, the wine, the town and the food made me feel that I was there. Brooke’s dog, Moochie, is a charmer and definitely got people to love her and not just tolerate her. There was nice closure, a happily ever after coming on one front, and enough loose ends that left me wanting more.

I’ve read other books by Terry and always enjoyed them. I look forward to reading many more of her books and being immersed in small town life with larger than life characters, lots of romance, and love. My kind of story!
