Our Review

THE START OF SOMETHING GOOD is the first book from Jennifer Probst’s brand new series, STAY. This is a fun read, combined with clever banter, some emotional entanglements, and a love story that is very hot. This novel can be enjoyed as a standalone.

Mia Thrush always wanted to be the public relations guru to the rich and famous. She is smart, beautiful, and a rising star in the field. Mia has her hands full with her latest client, the future mayor of New York City. Unfortunately, his daughter’s poor choices during college have the potential to end his candidacy, so Mia reluctantly agrees to look after her while she fulfills her community service obligation at a horse farm in upstate New York. It is there she meets Ethan Bishop, a former Special Forces paratrooper.

Ethan’s damaged body and mind are slowly on the mend, as he rediscovers the joy of living on his family’s farm and fixing a broken horse’s spirit. At first he and Mia can’t stand the sight of each other. However, over time, their attraction evolves into lust and love.

I truly enjoyed this book. Besides the enemies to lovers trope, there is a crazy chicken, some elderly matchmakers, and organic coffee that could give Starbucks some stiff competition. When Mia and Ethan finally get together, their roll in the hay is beyond steamy. In addition, Ethan’s dominance in the bedroom left me panting. The next book in the series is about Ophelia, Ethan’s sister, and I am truly looking forward to reading her story.
