Raised in Oklahoma, Beverly turned her skills to poetry at an early age. She filled volume after volume of journals, putting her thoughts down on paper. The fact that no one else ever saw her work didn't matter. Later, her poetry provided the lyrics for songs she sang to her family and friends on special events and holidays.

In school, she continued her music and developed a polished singing voice while teaching herself to play guitar. With these skills, she got her first job, singing in a local restaurant. Music continued to dominate her life as she gained a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Oklahoma State University.

After singing professionally for several years, Beverly turned her attention to teaching. She taught music education and computer science in public and private schools, but her teaching career ended with her marriage and subsequent birth of her one child.

Through all of her previous experiences, one dream persisted. Determined to achieve her goal of writing a book, Beverly took an online course and wrote her first book, THE GIFT, a contemporary fantasy. LOVE TIMES SEVEN, a contemporary paranormal romance released in May of 2005 and opened a floodgate for more of her engaging stories. When Sloan Janson's best friend makes a sudden marriage after being "matched" by Cally, Sloan is convinced his friend is the victim of a con. He storms into Cally's small Texas town, determined to expose her as a fraud. The minute he meets her, he still wants to expose her, but now in a totally different sense!

Years of matching soul mates, however satisfying, hasn't prepared Cally for the electrical effect Sloan has on her. She's tempted, and terrified-she's always known matchmakers can't have love without blowing the fuse on their gift.

Her worst fears come true when her ability to match deserts her. If she cuts Sloan out of her life, she's sure it will return. But is that a choice she can bear to make-or to live with?

I know the old saying "Life is too short." is a cliché, but it's also true. Isn't that how clichés become clichés?

My greatest fear is for my daughter to grow up afraid to reach out and get what she wants in life. I want her to take chances, risk her heart, and explore everything the world has to offer. I pray I've taught her to live life fully and to strive toward all her goals and dreams. I wish I'd done the same, but I didn't. I waited far too long to go for what I really wanted, the job I love doing…the job of writing.

Yet the other old saying, "It's never too late." runs through my mind whenever I contemplate my regrets. Again, so true. Age may be a factor in the decisions we make in life, but don't let age limit your dreams and ambitions. If you're still breathing, you can still accomplish your goals. Squash the negative voices inside you, as well as those who may say you can't accomplish anything you want to do. Take aim and take control of the future. Don't wait to live, love, and dream.

Spring is the best time of the year. After the cold days of winter, my soul waits for that first beautiful day when the air smells fresh and the sun shines on my shoulders. The warmth of springtime flows through me, melting my hardened shell against the winds of winter, filling me with hope and happiness. I love the slight breeze bringing the sounds of children outside, running and playing after being cooped up inside their homes all winter. So I grab my laptop and head to the patio, and it doesn't even matter that I'm too enchanted by the appearance of rabbits and birds to get much writing done. Because spring is a feeling as much as it is a season.
