The strong-willed Texan had a swagger
in his step and a chip on his shoulder, and Merri Davis was just one more assistant
who had been hired to try to keep him in line. Until a strange Gypsy gave Tyson
the gift of an old mirror and suddenly, his practical, plain Jane assistant
began to look mysterious and completely irresistible
Tyson's
blue-eyed intensity threatened to expose her secret, yet Merri couldn't deny her
response to the heat reflected in his hawklike gaze. She was falling for a man
who valued integrity above everything
a man she was deceiving. *** |

I hate writing! I mean, it's what I do for a living, but
it's a killer. What I love to do, what I was born to do, is tell stories.
I've been telling tall tales since the first time I learned how to string sentences
together. My mother always used to say I was one of the best liars' she'd
ever met. Which was a compliment, coming from a third generation Irish-American
whose entire family were born story-tellers. (Don't ask about the long-lost black
sheep that ended up in jail - they were not the best liars) It is my passion
to enthrall readers, to catch them up in the characters and plot and take them
away to a new place. When a reader tells me they laughed and/or cried at one of
my books, it is the ultimate compliment. I did it! I did my job. But the
writing, the actual sitting my butt in the chair and putting the show in my head
down on paper, stinks. I'd rather be reading...or shopping...or even walking (which
I hate) Oh, every once in a while, I surprise myself and the words come
easy. They just flow. The sentences come out like poetry, the descriptions are
amazing - - even to me. Those times are rare. Most of the time I struggle. One
word at a time. Have no fear, all my stories have happy endings, even
the darker ones. I love writing familiar characters who've been caught up in something,
but through their own development and through the love of the right person find
their way past the difficulty to a brighter day. My books are all sensuous too,
as that is part of life and certainly part of love. My latest trilogy
for Silhouette Desire are cases in point. |

 | It
may seem rather weird since I grew up in Florida, but I think the Christmas season
is the very best time of year. When I was a kid, we always spent one evening right
before Christmas driving around to see the holiday decorations. We'd drive by
homes with twinkling white lights, all blue ones or multi-colors so brilliant
they took your breath away. |
We
would get out of the car to visit homes where we'd be able to see the animated
trains going round and round, and sometimes see Santa Claus dolls who turned their
heads and laughed. It seemed like magic to me. The
last thing we always did was to visit the local bakery. They had a wonderful display
of Christmas theme lights and animation - - and the smell of bread baking was
fantastic! True, on Christmas
Day we kids would usually go to the beach for a picnic, but that didn't spoil
the wonder of the season for any of us. To this day, when I smell bread baking
or see twinkling outdoor lights, I think of Christmas and my family - - and home.
