Deidre Knight is a literary agent, mom, wife,
novelist and southern woman, and proud to answer to all of these
titles. Before she founded The Knight Agency in 1996, Deidre
worked behind the camera in movies and television. During the
eleven years since she launched her literary agency, she has
grown The Knight Agency to national prominence, shepherding
authors on to every major bestseller list. With agency sales
of more than 1,000 titles to major publishers, a large percentage
of which are in the categories of romance and womens fiction,
Deidre has established a reputation for discovering vivid and
unique storytellers and is considered an industry expert on
the hot trend of paranormal fiction. Writing in that genre,
she creates fresh characters and strong, emotional storylines.
One editor has described her as having tremendous verve
and a great knack for character and smart scenes. Others
have called her writing outstanding and emotionally
evocative.
Deidre began her writing career at age nine, when her award-winning
essay on Barbie was published in her hometown newspaper, The
Atlanta Journal and Constitution. She has been writing in one
form or another ever since. After nearly a decade of working
with Knight Agency clients, helping them discover their creative
potential, Deidres dream of writing romance came true
in the form of her MIDNIGHT WARRIOR series. Her eagerly awaited
PARALLEL DESIRE releases in December 2006.

"A fast paced thriller from the prologue, PARALLEL
DESIRE is not a stand alone book. Readers should read from the
beginning of the Midnight Warriors series to get the full effect.
Author, Deidre Knight has a gift for description as she takes
readers on a journey of time travel from the future to a Texas
in the past and makes both locations realistic in the readers
eye. Brilliant characterization, edgy suspense and highly charged
sensual elements add the extra touch needed to capture and hold
the readers attention from beginning to end. Scotts
journey from despair and grief to an awakening of love is a
thoughtful and emotional portrayal that kept this reader glued
to the story, hoping for the happily ever after I craved. A
sure bet for any paranormal lover, PARALLEL DESIRE is sure to
be another winner for Deidre Knight."--Reviewer Scarlet
"Emotional powerful enthralling innovative."

What
is near and dear to me? I would say definitely my home
and family, and the life we have built together in the
small, historic town of Madison, Georgia where we live.
I think the fact that I was raised in the city (Atlanta)
and have also lived in London, makes our choice to migrate
to a sort of Mayberry-like place all the more special.
Just
yesterday I was driving down Old Post Road here in Madison,
top down on my VW, and the leaves were cascading all around.
I looked to the right and to the left, and saw beautiful
Antebellum homes-all with incredible histories. The reader
and writer in me loves to imagine what the people who
built these homes were thinking, what lives they led.
In fact, the road I just mentioned, Old Post, was the
original Main Street in this town. When Sherman and his
troops marched in, the townsfolk laid out their heirlooms
as a plea that he wouldn't burn the town-and he didn't!
Although
as an agent I sometimes wish I were in New York City,
I love the fact that I can walk to our agency offices-or
drive there in about three minutes. And as I type this,
I'm sitting up in the attic of our one hundred-year old
house, which we are slowly converting into a writing and
creative space. You may be asking yourself if we have
ghosts, and this paranormal author is happy to say, "Yes!"
In fact, if you'd like to listen to the ghost hunt we
had here a few months ago, then you can follow this link:
The professional and Emmy-winning ghost hunting team of
Ron Kolek and Maureen Wood visited our home in late August,
and their podcast can be heard at the above link-as well
as two other hunts in our town of Madison at Heritage
Hall and also the cemetery. Word of note: I definitely
sound like the semi-excitable southern gal that I am!
"Debut author, Deidre Knight, immerses the reader in a
world that's believable, fascinating, and extremely sensual
between two people who meld into one as their love escalates.
The sensuality builds to a crescendo, the plot plummets your
emotion then brings you back, while bating your wishes for more
at the end. Completely mesmerizing, PARALLEL ATTRACTION leaves
you hoping for more."-- Reviewer Dorine
Ah, the many, many bookshelves in the
Knight household. As you can imagine, between being an agent,
a lifelong reader, and now an author, I own tons of books.
I've really been falling in love with reading again this
past year, too, and have tried out some "new"
authors (for me.) New loves are Suzanne Brockmann who I
finally started reading and then literally consumed-this
after my former editor gave me a few of her titles as a
gift. Also, dove into the world of JR Ward this year and
honestly, I transformed overnight-I turned into rabid fan
girl. Her books are pure magic, every one of them. I also
read TWILIGHT by Stephenie Meyer this year and I kid you
not, I inhaled those first two books in about 48 hours.
That's quite something when you realize they're cumulatively
about 1200 pages! I'm also a long-term Nelson DeMille fan!
He has an amazing ability to suck you into a story and hold
you captive until you're done.

I
am totally into television! I admit it! J I love everything

Well
it's fall now, but that's not my favorite season, stone
me now! I'm a summertime girl. I love the smell of suntan
lotion, chlorine, and sudden thunderstorms. These scents
take me back to my childhood in the best possible way,
when I had no deadlines-either as agent or author-and
remind me of carefree times. Now don't get me wrong:
Winter is another favorite season of mine, especially
when my family can travel to Wyoming where there is
snow and we can ski and snowmobile! But that's not all
that often. So I'd definitely say that here in Georgia,
I am still a summertime girl. Give me lightning bugs
and cicadas, the taste of sweet tea mingling with potato
salad, and I'm a happy southern gal. :-)
