Sara Humphreys Q&A and Giveaway

Trouble Walks In by Sara Humphreys

A Q&A and giveaway with bestselling author Sara Humphreys!  ♥

Hi Sara…What appeals to you most about your chosen genre?   I write paranormal and contemporary. I love paranormal because I get to make up all the rules and the sky’s the limit. The only boundaries are the ones that I create for the world. As for contemporary, like my McGuire Brothers series, the conflicts are much more internal, between the hero and the heroine.

Romance Junkies Q&A

The amazing Sara Humphreys is here with us today. Sara writes paranormal and contemporary romance for Sourcebooks and has agreed to answer some questions for us. Thanks for being here, Sara.

Is there any place and time in the world and in history that you would like to visit?

I would love to back in time and meet my grandparents when they first met. I’m fascinated by the WW II era and all the romantic notions that go along with it. I think it would be fascinating to meet both sets of my grandparents as young people just starting out on their lives, when they were first falling in love with each other.

What is your favorite scene in Trouble Walks In?

That’s a tough choice but I think my favorite would be the scene when Maddy and Ronan are out on their first official date. It’s Thanksgiving and Ronan asks Maddy what she’s thankful for after sharing his family’s traditions. It’s the first time she lets down the walls and gives him a glimpse into her heart.

How do you unwind after a long writing session?

I’ll binge watch The Walking Dead or go to the movies all by myself.

Who or what has most influenced your writing?

My friends in RWA (Romance Writers of America) have been an incredible source of knowledge, friendship, and support. I’ve learned leaps and bounds about writing and the business of writing, not to mention made wonderful friends. It’s an amazing group!

Is there a genre you wish you could write, but haven’t made the plunge? Which one and what appeals to you about it?

I have an idea for a paranormal YA series but haven’t taken the leap with it yet. I have a house full of teenagers—four boys, ages 21, 18, 15 & 15—so the idea of delving into teenage drama makes me a little queasy at the moment. I’m going to hang onto the series idea and look at it again in a couple of years when I’m not surrounded by adolescent testosterone.

What appeals to you most about your chosen genre?

I write paranormal and contemporary. I love paranormal because I get to make up all the rules and the sky’s the limit. The only boundaries are the ones that I create for the world. As for contemporary, like my McGuire Brothers series, the conflicts are much more internal, between the hero and the heroine. It’s fascinating to delve into the emotional depths of two people, to pull away the layer upon layer of defenses and reveal the vulnerable human being underneath.

Trouble Walks In by Sara Humphreys

He could be the man to rescue her

Big city K-9 cop Ronan McGuire loves women, loves his dog, loves his job—but when old flame Maddy Morgan moves into his jurisdiction, he can’t think about anyone else. Ronan knows she’s way out of his league, but he’s determined to help Maddy live life to the fullest.

In more ways than one

With tragedy in her past, Maddy has immersed herself in work and swiftly made a name for herself in the hot New York City real estate market. She’s looking for safety, not love, but Ronan McGuire is as persistent as he is sexy, and his crooked smile is hard to resist. But all other concerns are wiped away when Maddy goes missing and Ronan and his bloodhound K-9 partner are tasked with finding her and bringing her home.

  21. Texas Book Lover

Paranormal and contemporary age my favorite romance genres for the exact reasons you mentioned. Sometimes I want to completely get outside my head into something that could never ever happen. Then there are others I want a love story that there is a very slight chance it could happen in the real world. And they both always leave me feeling happy!

  22. Jennifer Lessard

I have purchased book 1 of the McGuire Brothers Series and have added book 2 to my Wish List! Now I just need to get book 1 read! My kindle TBR list continues to grow but once the book is purchased and added to my kindle, it is that much closer than those that are still waiting on my GoodReads TBR list 🙂 Would LOVE to win a copy! Also to be added to the drawing for the $10 GC, I would be able to buy more books! I think I am an ebook hoarder! And proud of it!

  23. Colleen C.

Ooh I am drooling over that cover! The book sounds like one I would enjoy!
