Our Review

I really love books that take place in the hustle and bustle of New York City. So I was very happy to get the opportunity to read MOONLIGHT OVER MANHATTAN by Sarah Morgan. This is the sixth book from the author’s MANHATTAN WITH LOVE series, and it can be totally enjoyed as a standalone.

Harriet Knight and her twin sister own a thriving dog walking company. Harriet is quite shy, so she takes care of the dogs and the walkers, while her sister grows the business. Harriet is on a mission to get over her shyness, and as a result, has decided to challenge herself each day to attempt something new. The online dating challenge was a bust. She ended up in the emergency room with a sprained ankle, after climbing out from the restaurant’s bathroom window to escape her truly horrible date. Harriet’s ER doctor, Ethan Black, ends up being her new client only a few days later.

Ethan is an amazing doctor, and he has no problem dealing with the many pressures and personalities that comes his way via his job. Dogs, however, are a different story. Temporarily taking care of his sister’s pup is more than a challenge, so he ensures that the dog walker his sister has hired will come by his apartment more than once a day. The dog walker happens to be Harriet, and Ethan truly needs her assistance. Over time, they develop a friendship that evolves into much more.

This is a well-written novel about courage and love that twists and turns in all the right places. Harriet is a wonderful character, and the steps she takes to work through her insecurities and shyness are inspirational. She is a dog whisperer, and a breath of fresh air with a bit of lust on her mind. Although Ethan has a huge heart, romantic love is difficult for him. Letting Harriet in is one of his challenges. When Harriet and Ethan give in to their desires, the sparks fly. If you are in the mood for a fun and slightly emotional read, pick up a copy of MOONLIGHT OVER MANHATTAN.
