Our Review
Love makes the world go round. Unfortunately, Stella Lane is terrible at it. In THE KISS QUOTIENT, Stella, a classy, brainy lady, who is an econometrician, needs to seriously brush up on her making-out skills. Who better to teach her than a professional escort? Stella hires hunk of burning love, Michael Phan. Mm…oh baby, what a fine looking man with ripped muscles to boot!
Michael, an extremely handsome guy, is a fashion designer in his off-hours and works at his mom’s dry cleaning business during the day. He escorts on Friday nights for extra cash. His strict one-night-only rule with women is put to the test when he is hired by Stella to demonstrate to her all the techniques of love. Her innocent charm bewitches Michael like no other lady has before. He craves her kisses and more. Stella counts the seconds during their make-out session. One time is simply not enough. Her analytical mind devises a plan to fix that. Will Michael agree to her plan or will they flake out?
THE KISS QUOTIENT is a totally cool love story that is refreshingly light, but with a little bit of frayed edges to make it realistically romantic in a contemporary way. Stella, an inexperienced lady in the love department, hires an escort, Michael, to help her overcome her issues. More is at stake than either of them first realize. Michael also has problems and sassy, charming Stella breaks down his barriers without even knowing it. She just has that effect on him.
This is a great story about autism and how it affects a person. Ms. Hoang does an expert job seamlessly working in health and emotional problems. This story delivers a big punch when all is revealed. I loved all the surprises the author sneaks in at the end. Plus, Michael’s Asian family and their quirkiness is an additional treat. Absolutely loved them! THE KISS QUOTIENT is just like a classic margarita. A little bit sweet, a little bit salty and incredibly scrumptious!
