Our Review

What’s a girl to do when her brothers bet her she can’t get a date for the town’s annual charity event? Well, she consults her best friend, who happens to be seriously sexy, for advice and hopes he can come up with some fool proof plan to help her win the bet. What Anna doesn’t expect is for Chase to solve the problem by suggesting he be her date for the evening, however, that’s not all he’s agreeing to… nope, Chase is going to teach her how to be a woman.  Now, he meant ditch the grease stained overalls, wearing make-up, heels and a real hairstyle, however, he’s soon going to discover that regardless of what she’s wearing Anna does not require help being a ‘woman.’  More importantly she’s almost too much woman for him to handle especially when she turns the tables on him and calls him on his own insecurities.

How is it that I’ve never read a Maisey Yates book before? TAKE ME, COWBOY is great and by that I mean seriously hot.  The characters are fun, emotionally challenged, and really the sort of people you can envision as friends who have finally caved into their attraction to each other.  The seduction scenes between Chase and Anna are smoldering and some of the confrontations are devastating, but at the same time you can watch them grow as individuals as well as a couple.   I really loved reading about Anna’s background and why it’s so difficult for her to feel accepted amongst her peers, somehow it made her feel more ‘real’ and allowed me to form an attachment to her.  Chase on the other hand seems to be a pretty confident guy but there are attachment issues there as well so it’s great seeing how Anna and Chase help each other conquer their own insecurities. 

I’m now eagerly anticipating HOLD ME, COWBOY which is Chase’s brother, Sam’s story and will definitely be picking up the rest of the titles in this series.
