Our Review

COMING HOME TO SEASHELL HARBOR is the first book in the Seashell Harbor series. Set on the water in a small town in New Jersey, the story is filled with vivid descriptions of the shore. This is a second-chance romance that is often predictable but still had me rooting for Hadley and Cam.  

Hadley returns home after a public break up with an actor when he ditches her for someone else. She’s licking her wounds and returns to find her beloved Gran is set to have surgery due to a broken hip. Little does Hadley know that her first love is also back in town, figuring out his life after an injury that sidelined his professional football career.  Hadley and Cam continually butt heads, especially when they both want her grandmother’s building.

Hadley’s best friends are woven throughout the book and will hopefully have their own stories coming soon. Pets, rescued dogs, and an old ring also play a role in the story. The inclusion of the post-it notes is a cute addition, too. The story has a good flow but started off slowly for me. There are surprises throughout, along with family ties and a genuine romance. There is nice closure with hints of what’s to come next. SEA GLASS SUMMER is next in the series, and I can’t wait to read it!
