IT STARTED WITH CHRISTMAS started a little slowly, but past the first few pages, I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. The story is filled with family and friends set in a small town outside of Nashville. The community is sweet and filled with interesting characters. One such character is a county music singer living his dream. He and Holly were best friends until he left to make a name for himself. What happens when their paths cross once again?

Holly is caring for her grandmother after the loss of her beloved Papa. They rent out their family cabin to help make ends meet. Joe, who’s a little mysterious, is their tenant leading up to the holidays. When the weather doesn’t cooperate, what’s in store for them? He and Holly have chemistry but her grandmother doesn’t seem to like him too much. He has secrets but seems kind, yet their respective issues might just keep them apart.  

Holly’s life is on hold so she can take care of her grandmother. But that all changes when there’s a little Christmas magic in the air. The inclusion of some of Holly’s family traditions at the holidays make IT STARTED WITH CHRISTMAS so engaging. There’s also some push and pull between Joe and Holly’s best friend. The story wraps up at Christmas a year later, and there are surprises in store. I loved the cover, which fit the story so well. A heartwarming romance for the holidays.
