Our Review
Sexy times and a well-written plot come together to give us THE REBOUND by author Stefanie London. I find Ms. London’s stories to be a joy to read because her characters exude a genuineness that is easy to identify with. If you enjoy the runaway bride trope, you will love this book.
Presley Richardson is a good girl who is unlucky in love. She was engaged twice and both times it did not work out. Both men were users, and all Presley craves is man who will love her for just being herself, with no strings attached. She dumped her first fiance a few months before the wedding and the second fiance only minutes before saying “I do.” Presley escapes through a window, half-dressed, into the Mercedes of her now ex-fiance’s stepbrother, Sebastian Foster. They share an instant spark that cannot be denied.
Sebastian and his stepbrother, Mike, are like oil and water. Sebastian wants to make the world a better place, while Mike wants to dismantle it. At first Presley has no idea that her rescuer is Mike’s stepbrother, and she is shocked to learn that everything she heard about him is untrue. Sebastian and his father are a bit estranged, however. If Sebastian wants to be CEO when his father retires and uphold his late grandfather’s beloved legacy, he needs to make nice. The lust and developing feelings between Presley and him do not bode well for a future at the helm, yet her words and actions cause him to reevaluate what he wants.
I liked this captivating story. Presley and Sebastian are a unique couple, and their steamy times are both sensual and hot. Sebastian’s father was quite a character, with his unethical actions. If you are looking for a fun, well-conceived book with characters that are easy to connect with, then add THE REBOUND to your TBR list. This is the third book from the Close Quarters series and it can be read a a standalone.
