Our Review

Fisher was raised Amish but left at fourteen years of age to live as an English. He resolved to never go back, until his brother was diagnosed with cancer. He must return to Hart County to help his brother and his wife.

Alice Yoder is house sitting for her brother across the street from the Fisher’s house. Alice is the local nursery school teacher and doesn’t want to become too friendly with the English brother living there. He has a shady past and an even shadier job, so she is told.

When criminal activity starts happening in Hart County, Calvin Fisher fears his past has followed him. Calvin works undercover for the DEA and he is afraid Alice won’t like the life he has led.

The ending is not what I expected but it is very exciting. Anyone who reads inspirational books will love this author like I do. Shelley Shepard Gray draws me in with her perception of the Amish life and the inner working of the family dynamics.
