Our Review

Rain Barrington comes from money. However, she is not the pampered princess most people think she is. She has worked hard to get her degree in social work and wants to open up a place where abused women can receive help. Her mother, who controls her trust, wants Rain to do her duty and marry into a family where business interests can be merged. Love does not enter into the equation. Well, there is no way Rain is going to marry the pompous creep her mother has picked out, so she makes up a story that angers her mother and runs away from home.

Sol DuMont and his siblings have worked hard to make their hotel chain a success. He lives his life by his own rules. He has played hard and indulged his every whim. He loves his life in New Orleans, and when Rain arrives to stay at his hotel, he’s immediately entranced by her beauty and innocence.

As the story unfolds, these two people meet and recognize there is an instant attraction. Sol is very comfortable with his sexual prowess and loves to explore his boundaries. Rain is very innocent but curious. As she spends more time with Sol, she wants to see just how far she can sexually go. The love scenes are very hot and contain elements of light BDSM.

THE KING OF BOURBON STREET has lots of humor. The side characters are fun and interesting, and I fell in love with Freckles, the Corgi.  What I found most enjoyable was when Mama Barrington tries to force Rain to do what she wants, and Rain decides she’s had enough.

This was a fun read and with New Orleans as the backdrop, you can’t go wrong.
