Our Review

What do you do when the man who left you at the altar is now the one standing in the way of your dream job?

Carolina Santos was heartbroken and confused when her fiancee Andrew Hartley stood her up on their wedding day. To add insult to injury, the news came via Andrew’s younger brother, Max. Carolina took her anger and humiliation and channeled it into her business as a wedding planner.

A business opportunity comes up to be the sole wedding coordinator for a ritzy hotel chain. She must work with a marketing team to draft a pitch and comes head to head to Max and Andrew.

Choosing the lesser of two evils, Carolina teams up with Max and is intent on allowing her drive for success and her desire for revenge to get the best of her. What neither Carolina nor Max count on is a mutual attraction that gets stronger every time they meet.

This was my first time reading anything from Mia Sosa, and I have to say, she is a great storyteller. The story flowed well and at a steady pace. Main character Carolina is of Brazilian descent, and I love that the Brazilian culture was presented in an unapologetic way with no translations for the many phrases used.

While THE WORST BEST MAN was entertaining, it was pretty predictable and just a tad unrealistic. Falling for your ex’s brother and assuming the relationship becomes successful seems far fetched to me and takes the term “bro code” to another level.
