Our Review

TOO FAR GONE is the 14th book in the Lucy Kincaid FBI series, and I enjoyed it as much as book number 1.

Lucy has been assigned to an FBI hostage negotiation team and, during what appears to be a robbery, it becomes apparent that not all is what it seems. The perpetrator is not after money. He is extremely confused and incoherent and ends up being killed by the police. While trying to figure out what happened to turn this man from a brilliant scientist to a madman in a short amount of time, Lucy discovers he works for a drug company and has created an experimental drug that is getting ready to be licensed by the Federal Drug Administration that will aid in helping Alzheimer patients.

This sounds perfectly normal, but there is more here than meets the eye. There are layers of intrigue and secrets that Lucy is trying to unravel, especially when colleagues of the man go missing. While working the case, she is also trying to help her husband, Sean Rogan, develop his relationship with the son he just learned he had. Not an easy task to learn you are the father of a teen you never knew existed.

This book is like a giant jigsaw puzzle, and I thoroughly enjoyed trying to unravel the pieces and watch how Lucy put them in the correct place. This series rocks! Allison Brennan has done a wonderful job of keeping the stories fresh and intriguing.
