Our Review

A PERFECT CHRISTMAS by Dilys J. Carnie was a quick read at only sixty-one pages.   Set in Scotland, one of the places on my bucket list, was unexpected. This is Skye and Callum’s story, and while they have a past from ten years before, they never expected to cross paths again. The story takes place over the course of a couple of days at Christmas, and their feelings and chemistry return with a vengeance. Skye is hurt and conflicted while Callum is all in. Will he be able to convince Skye that she should be too?

While the characters were likable, they weren’t fleshed out enough for me. There were heartfelt moments and a few heartbreaking ones too. There seemed to be more story to tell, but the story ended abruptly without even an epilogue, which would have given me closure. There is a happily-ever-after though. I loved the cover, especially with Callum’s house in the background.

Carnie is a new-to-me author and I will give some of her other books a try. There were excerpts of a few of them at the back of the book that caught my interest.
