Our Review

CHRISTMAS AT TWO LOVE LANE is the first book in Kramer’s TWO LOVE LANE SERIES, and I look forward to reading more. Set in Charleston, South Carolina, with all its Southern roots, the book left me feeling that I was there. The Southern speak, mannerisms, people, locations, food, and traditions welcomed me with open arms, and had vivid descriptions.

Macy and her two best friends, Greer and Ella, along with a long-time friend, Miss Thing, run a matchmaking service and help others find true love. But what of themselves since Macy, Greer, and Ella are all single and haven’t found their soulmates yet? When Macy’s path crosses her new neighbor, Fran Banks, her friend and servant, George, and Fran’s nephew, Deacon, sparks fly between her and Deacon. But will it be for naught when he hires her firm to set him up with some dates while in Charleston as a gift to his aunt? He’s only visiting his aunt for a month before returning to New York City where he lives and works.

The story is filled with family, Southern charm, and good will since it’s Christmas. There’s also the requisite bounty of misunderstandings and apologies amidst fun antics of family and friends. The dogs and a cat who rule their roosts made me laugh.

The characters have many different sides to them, and we get to know them a little at a time. The story flows nicely, and there is a happily ever after. I look forward to reading the next two books in the series, A WEDDING AT TWO LOVE LANE and SECOND CHANCE AT TWO LOVE LANE.

Kieran Kramer is a new-to-me author only having read TROUBLE WHEN YOU WALKED IN previously. I look forward to reading more of her books.
