Our Review

LOVE ON LEXINGTON AVENUE is the second book in the CENTRAL PARK PACT series, and it follows playfully after PASSION ON PARK AVENUE. I’m looking forward to reading the last book in the series, MARRIAGE ON MADISON AVENUE!

This is Claire and Scott’s story, and it’s fast-paced and had me turning the pages to see what would happen next. Claire is a widow of a cheating husband. She’s now best friends with his girlfriend, Naomi, and mistress, Audrey. We get more of the details of their relationships with him, some which may be a bit much for readers to read.

The book begins with a prologue that takes us back to the day of his funeral a year before and sets the stage.  From there the story flows smoothly as we meet Scott, Claire’s new contractor. He’s going to renovate her  home, and Claire gives him carte blanche, wanting to reinvent herself as well as the house.

There are a few story lines going on at the same time, but most revolve around Claire, Scott, his dog, and the renovations. Whenever Claire has doubts, she seeks out the counsel of either Naomi, Audrey, or them both. The three women are great friends. The story takes place over two months, and the happily ever after is disclosed in the sweetest way. The epilogue, which takes place a month later, was the icing on the cake.

Ms. Layne is an author whose books I enjoy.  I can’t wait to read more of her work.
