Our Review

Merry Knight is working as a temp at a consulting firm. She doesn’t have any time to be looking for a man while taking care of her mother, who has MS, and her autistic brother. Merry’s uptight boss is so strict about company policy that she tries to avoid him as much as possible.

Jayson Bright is the VP of his uncle’s consulting firm and needs to do his job exceptionally well, so he can inherit the firm. Jayson doesn’t fraternize with the employees, but it seems one lady has definitely caught his eye.

Merry’s mother and brother decide to sign her up for a dating site without her knowledge. At first Merry is not pleased, but after she meets someone and becomes interested in him, she can’t stay away from the site.

Jayson’s cousin talks him into trying out the dating site Merry is on and they begin enjoying an online relationship. Neither Merry nor Jayson realize they work together and find out the online site is an easy way to get to know each other without any expectations.

Trying to decide when to meet is a problem that doesn’t resolve easily. Jayson doesn’t believe in much, after the unhappy childhood he endured, so he doesn’t really trust people.

This story is one of family, holiday cheer and the power of love over adversity.

Debbie Macomber’s books bring delight to an otherwise common life. As an avid reader of her books, I can find a reason for the season through the help of Debbie’s Christmas stories. If you need a feel-good Christmas story, MERRY AND BRIGHT is perfect.
