Our Review

Do you like watching cooking competition shows? Do the details of the chefs’ creations excite you? Then this book is your catnip!

Chef Sadie Rosen is thrilled to get on her favorite cooking show—especially since her career appears to be tanked in Seattle. She wants to escape to a new place and to hopefully place high enough to attract investors’ attention, so she can open her own place and cook what she wants—and incidentally expose foodies to the wide variety available from the Jewish diaspora. When she meets a sexy man on the plane, they bond over their mutual love of good food, which is NOT what they’re served on the plane. When they land, he convinces her to go out to eat with him, and they enjoy a delicious meal while sharing their secret cooking ambitions. Imagine her shock when Sadie walks into the first day of the competition and Luke Weston is the replacement for an ailing judge. Can they keep their prior meeting secret? Or will working so closely together expose them to more than good food?

I’m not a fan of cooking shows, especially the competition ones. I don’t like watching as the hopes of some are dashed while others win. Plus I don’t like seafood, and almost all of the recipes described in great detail involve marine proteins. Also, I expected more steaminess—closed door romances don’t do it for me. So I think this book wasn’t for me.

But if you’re a fan of cooking competitions, and the only heat coming from a few kisses, you’ll love this book.
