Our Review

SECRET NIGHTS WITH A COWBOY is the first book in the KITTREDGE RANCH series, and I’m looking forward to reading more. There’s also a bonus novella included, SWEET NIGHTS WITH A COWBOY, which left me wanting more!

This is Riley and Rae’s story. They’ve loved each other since a young age and married immediately after she graduated from high school. Their relationship is nothing if not tumultuous. Even though Rae left the marriage eight years ago, she keeps coming back for more. Why did she leave? What secret is she harboring that even Riley doesn’t have a clue? They don’t communicate unless they’re between the sheets or somewhere else doing the dirty, but it’s getting old. They’re trying to be friends (or friends with benefits) but it’s the same old, same old. Will they ever learn to communicate? Will that bring them back together?

It doesn’t help that they both come from prominent yet dysfunctional families in their small town in Colorado. Everyone has an opinion or an argument for or against their actions. I did like the relationships between the various family members and their extended families and the truths they sometimes unveil. The descriptions of the town and ranch life are spot on. The story involves a lot of family and friends in the relationship, as well as the importance of their respective businesses.

SWEET NIGHTS WITH A COWBOY is the youngest Kittredge brother’s story, and it’s sweet in its telling. Connor and Missy dated in high school but broke up because she wanted more from her life than small town living. When thirteen years have passed and she’s now back home figuring out her next steps, what’s a guy to do? I liked their interactions together and their promised HEA.

Ms. Crews also writes as Megan Crane, and I love both her pen names. I enjoy her writing and am always up for reading great cowboy romances.
