Our Review

SHE’S GOT A WAY is an ECHO VALLEY series novel set in Vermont at a summer camp for underprivileged kids.

Gabriela O’Brien is a housemother at the Briarwood Academy, a boarding school for rich girls. She is devoted to the four girls within her care. When the girls steal a school van for a midnight trip to a boys school, the headmaster assigns them to spend the summer at a remote campground in Echo Lake, Vermont. Gabi is ordered to be their chaperone which she can’t refuse. A camp with no plumbing or wireless access is just what they need to get their heads on straight, right? We shall see.

Luke Magellan has spent years at Camp Echo trying to help needy, troubled boys find a better life. Spending the summer with four spoiled rich girls and their uptight housemother is not what Luke has signed on for, but since Briarwood Academy has bought the camp he must do what they want of him. What happens when the rich kids have to fend for themselves, from putting up tents to raccoon invasions, makes for a fun, creative story for everyone.

Luke and Gabi have an attraction blooming between them that neither one wants. Trying to stay professional and take care of the girls is what they need to do. What transpires between these two love-starved adults and the girls is a great story of romance and the love for a group of lost girls. Will it just be a summer camp romance or will it last a lifetime? Another great book by Maggie McGinnis.
