Our Review

Alex Bartlett needs to date. At least that’s what his friends, Nate and Dale, keep telling him. In fact, they hounded him so much about it that he finally decided to take another leap a year after his disastrous divorce. Alex expected to find women who slightly stretched the truth on their online romance profiles. What he didn’t expect to find was a brutally honest blog written by a woman who wanted to keep her name a secret – LBH. Alex feels as if he already knows her. Thus begins the craziest adventure Alex has ever found himself on. When everyone else is traveling home for Christmas holidays, Alex is traveling to a distant state, determined to find the lonely, honest lady he has already half fallen in love with. The only kink in his plan was that he didn’t even know her name.

Richard Paul Evans is known for his Christmas stories and THE MISTLETOE SECRET’S holiday setting fits perfectly for the magical tale he has created. Alex Bartlett could be the guy next door, a co-worker, or a close friend. Alex has dealt with a bitter breakup and his quest for healing, love, and a happy-ever-after is one we can all relate to on some level. He has made mistakes, but his mistakes are part of his personality and also part of what makes him so lovable as a character. This story can be enjoyed at any time of the year and if you haven’t had the opportunity to read any of Richard Paul Evans’s books, this is a fabulous one for which to start.
