Our Review

Sanna Lund is a fifth-generation cider-maker. She only wants to live a quiet and simple life on her family’s apple orchard in Door County, Wisconsin. While her brother attempts to get their father to sell the orchard, Sanna remains devoted to the orchard and her struggling cider business.

Sanna’s father hires single dad Isaac Banks to help with the orchard. Isaac has spent years trying to shield his son Sebastian from his drug addict mother. After she dies of an overdose, Isaac packs up their belongings and leaves California. Their travel leads them to Sanna’s orchard and maybe a new beginning.

Sanna’s father falls from a ladder and is badly injured so having Isaac there to help is a plus. Sanna takes over running the orchard and finds comfort in having Isaac by her side. Getting to know Sebastian is difficult for Sanna as she has never been around kids much.

When an outside threat infiltrates the farm, the family plus Isaac and Sebastion must work together to keep the orchard going strong. Strange things happen when Sanna and Isaac kiss and it brings some mystery to the story.

Amy E. Reichert is a new-to-me author and I enjoyed her philosophy of life and how bad things can become good. This story is for anyone who enjoys creating family where you need it and learning how to let go of the past to form a beautiful future.
