Our Review

THIS SCOT OF MINE by Sophie Jordan is a tale of romance and adventure with a Scottish curse thrown in. Lady Clara is engaged to the Earl of Rolland and has found out he is not the man she thought he was. Lady Clara breaks the engagement and banishes herself out of British society to save her family the embarrassment of the breakup. Lady Clara travels to Scotland to her older brother’s estate there. Stopping at an inn for a rest before continuing on to her brother’s estate, Clara sees a man who piques her interest. Arriving at her brother’s, Clara finds that the man is Laird MacLain (Hunt) and is an invited guest at her brother’s home. Learning about Clara’s situation and making his own assumptions, Hunt proposes to Lady Clara. After much discussion but not knowing the whole story of Hunt, Lady Clara accepts and marries Hunt. Both Clara and Hunt find out the true story of their situation and an interesting adventure ensues. The story ends happily. As a reader I found this story easy to read, enjoyed the he said/she said situation and unexpected surprise at the end. I received a complimentary copy (ARC) of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
