Our Review

WHEN TWILIGHT BREAKS by Sarah Sundin is a romantic historical suspense set in 1938 Munich, Germany.

Evelyn Brand is an American foreign correspondent working in a male-dominated profession, covering the growing unrest in Nazi Germany.

Peter Lang is a graduate student working on his PhD in Munich. He meets Evelyn and is immediately taken with her intelligence and courage. As Peter sees the brutality of the Nazi regime firsthand, he becomes Evelyn’s source.

Peter and Evelyn fall in love. The Nazis discover they have been betrayed, and soon Peter and Evelyn are on the run for their lives.

The first third of the book moved at a good pace, but after that I felt the pacing and suspense stalled with unnecessary scenes. The hero also felt weak and unsympathetic in places. Overall, I enjoyed the book, and it provides a satisfying happily ever after.
