Never be so foolish as to fall for the enemy…

Special wolf agent Jillian Matthews has joined the jaguar-run United Shifter Force to track down a deadly criminal. She’s even willing to work with PI Vaughn Greystroke—until the hot, growly SEAL wolf makes the mistake of getting in her way. Naturally, she shoots him. Who could blame her?

What is it about shapeshifters that’s so attractive to readers?

Have you ever wished you could hear better? See better? See at night without the aid of light? Smell better? Run free and wild through the woods, your fur coat repelling water, snow, the cold and you’d fit right in with your environment? And yet, once you’re human, you’d still have these enhanced abilities? And if you could be more attuned to that wilder side of you, the pheromones that tell you this person could be just the right one for you? Instead of making all kinds of mistakes with one husband or wife after another?

What if you’re in a survival situation and can shift? Drink water, that for a strictly human would make you sick, yet as a shifter, you would be fine? Catch fish, when you don’t have a fishing line and hook? Eat the fish raw, and be perfectly happy? Run for miles without breaking a sweat? Stay hidden in the wild more easily than a human?

My shapeshifters live longer. Wouldn’t that be a boon to learning more through living longer, healthier lives? Healing genetics also help the shifters overcome health issues faster, broken legs heal in half the time, the same for any other kind of injury.

What if you were a shifter with a pack, and that pack was your extended family, there to help you whenever you needed them to? That everyone in the pack wanted to help with the new pups in the pack? That everyone was protective? And that your chosen mate wouldn’t stray after a few years? That he’d be just as good with the kids as everyone else in the pack?

What if you can’t find a shifter mate? There are always others in the shifter community who are happy to help you find that perfect one and set you right up.

Some of my shifter fans said:

I love the idea that they can completely transform from a wild beast to an incredibly sexy male, or female. The men are normally very tall, well endowed, like their animal counterpart. They’re very sexy, and loyal to their pack, family, pride, team. And obsessively loyal and protective and lusty in bed. The females are intelligent, self-confident, and beautiful in both bodies. Wild beast to a Tame but incredibly sexy man or female. –Donna

I think their strength and loyalty. And the fact they’re always hot doesn’t go unnoticed!!!—Aria

They always get naked!—Bonnie

I don’t really think I can put it into words, it just fascinates me. I love the Wolves.—Fran

Sexy man to sexy wolf. Doesn’t get any better than that.—Terri

It’s all those possibilities.—Ruth

Shapeshifters are the ultimate bad boys women want to tame and vice-versa for female shifters.—Betty

Hot, wild, mates…all of it.—Ashley

Yep all the possibilities!!—Heather

Loyalty, love and protection of mate and caring of packmates.—Helly

Destiny of the Wolf, the book that got me addicted to this series then I had to go buy them all up since I got started late. I loved every minute of these sexy wolves. Something about the alpha possessive manner they have with a side of sweetness towards the ones that claim their hearts just calls to me.—Lindsey

I like something about combining animal and human traits in a story. It makes an ordinary story more interesting. Some people seem to completely lose their childhood magic and some of us never do. I like to think we have more imagination. Ghost and vampire stories are also some of my favorites. Does anyone remember the song “Puff the Magic Dragon,” a song about little boy that grew up and his imaginary dragon was so forlorn?—Tom

They are mysterious, wild, sexy and have that grrrrrrrrrr animalistic hunger!!—Maria

The strength and protectiveness.—Kathy

It’s that primal Wild side that drives you wild. Getting to know the beast within.—Chelsey

I love all the books and it’s the family connections and begins bond to your mate for forever. I love you and I love your ‘normal’ work. But my shape shifts enough to fulfill that need.—Charlotte

The men and women are in better health and shape because of all the activity in their animal form.—Sandi

Loyalty to their mate.—Nikki

Their strength, loyalty, strong love of one another, family ethics, acceptance of others no matter their past mistakes and ability to shapeshift…Oh my…lol.—Pam

All the above and the way they adore their fated mate and make her feel so special.—Brenda

I agree with Kathy: they’re strong, virile, super-protective of their mate.—Dee

And there you have it! Some reasons why we all love shifters. Do you agree with these readers? What do you love most about them?
