Please tell us a little bit about yourself. I’m Carrie Ann Ryan, a NYT and USA Today Bestselling author of contemporary and paranormal romance. I’ve published over fifty books with over 2.0 million books sold. I used to be a chemist before I changed my mind and found the love of an HEA instead. And when I’m not reading or writing, I’m wrangling my cats because they apparently think they own my life! LOL
When did you know you wanted to write books? Was there a defining moment for you? I wanted to try out and see if I could actually finish a book after reading so many books so quickly after finding Twilight. When I fell in love with romance and figured out I could write a book, I decided to write a BETTER book and that’s how I wrote An Alpha’s Path. It started out as an idea of what happens when a wolf goes on a blind date and realizes the woman across from him his is mate. And from there I found my love of romance!
What’s your favorite type of hero and heroine to write? What qualities make them stand out to you? I LOVE the bearded growly hero. He can be dominant or a cuddly teddy bear, it doesn’t matter. I just want him bearded and tortured. And my favorite heroine is the snarky one that gives it out harder than she gets it. If she’s a little broke inside, I’m mush right along with her.
Why did you choose to go indie instead of a different publishing path? At first it was because of my full time job and I wanted to make my own deadlines. As I researched more into what path I wanted to take I figured that I wanted to try out my own thing and have control. It worked for me but I know it’s different for every person and I totally love that we can do things that works for US.
How do you like interacting with readers best (i.e. live chats, Facebook, Twitter, reader events, etc.) ? I love signings but I get so nervous! LOL So Live Chats on Facebook are totally my favorite. I get to be my dorky self and readers get to ask me questions and I get to try to find non-spoilery but total tease worthy answers. I have a group on FB called Team Carrie Ann Ryan that I spend the most time in for sure. They get the most of my Chris Evans gifs. LOL
Who are some of your favorite authors to read? Nalini Singh! *fan girl scream* Then of course Lauren Dane, Nora Roberts, Christina Lauren, Shelly Laurenston and so many more!
Please give us a brief glimpse of a typical writing day for you. I wake up and zombie walk to my coffee maker LOL. Then I get on Skype with Kennedy Layne and spend a good hour doing admin and waking up while talking about business or our families. She’s the only person I’ll let see me with bed head other than my husband! LOL
After that we usually do 20-30 sprints with our writing group until I get my 5000 words in. I’ll finish by noon and then yelled at by Kennedy because my fingers move too fast! Haha. After lunch I’ll work on my second project or do edits or whatever else is on my plate at the time.
I write A LOT but I love it.

What are 4 fun facts you’d like readers to know about you?
- I outline all my books and color-code them. Even the *ahem* scenes so I don’t accidentally put them on the table too many times in a book haha.
- I talk to my cats more than I talk to humans.
- I’m addicted to Sargento Cheese Packs.
- I bake on the weekends using recipes from The Great British Bake Off.
What advice would you give aspiring writers in today’s market? This is a marathon. Not a sprint. What worked for me six years ago won’t work for you today and that’s okay. Find your thing and know that you might need to change it twenty more times.
Tell us about your next upcoming release. I have so many! I write a book or two a month LOL. But on April 18th, Fractured Silence (Talon Pack Book 5) releases. I am OMG excited about this book. It’s about Parker, Brandon, and Avery. That’s two male wolves and the human woman who might just break them and their world. I’ve been leading up to them and the end of this plot arc for a few books now and I cannot wait to show you want happens. This book is INTENSE and I loved writing it!
The Talon Pack continues with a dark secret that could shatter the future of the Packs, or save them all.
Parker Jamenson is the son of three Packs, the sole mediator between every Pack in the United States and Europe, and…he’s dying. He knows he doesn’t have much left in him and is in desperate need of a mate. But with the new and unyielding changes thanks to the Moon Goddess, he might not have as much time as he thinks.
Brandon Brentwood is the Omega of the Talon Pack and the youngest of his family. He’s not only one of the famed triplets; he’s also the most secretive. There’s a good reason for that, however, and when a shocking revelation meshes the past and present in a very unexpected way, he’ll look to not only Parker but also a disgraced human to save them all.
Avery Montag knows she’s the daughter of a traitor and doesn’t have much to give the wolves in the way of atonement. But she’ll do everything she can to pay for her father’s sins and find a way to end the war between the humans and the wolves.
When the three turn to each other in a time of unrest and for vastly different reasons, temptation burns and seduction beckons. Only, the past, present, and future are never as solid as they seem, and the path the trio thought to travel may just vanish before they’re ready.
